Objective

We all have great ideas, but sometimes we need to learn to speak up or express ourselves in the best way so that we get what we need and get our point across. Some of us keep quiet (passive) and some of us shout too loud (aggressive).

This workshop will help you to fine tune the way you communicate, the language you use, the way you think about yourself and your ideas to enable you to be more assertive

  • Explore what Assertiveness means
  • Examine your behaviour and how this leads you to “give in”
  • Recognise the choices you have in interactions with others
  • Practice saying “No” without feeling guilty
  • Learn assertive language vs aggressive language and the common errors people make
  • Formulate assertive responses to common challenges
  • Use positive words, tone and body language
  • Address an issue to approach someone assertively

This workshop is suitable for anyone who would like to improve their communication skills both internally and externally. It would be suited to people who struggle to speak up, waffle or those who are perceived as aggressive.
